The HZ series was launched in October 1977 and was the final revision of the Holden HQ series.
The introduction of the Radial Tuned Suspension and 4 wheel disc brakes was a dramatic improvement, which brought remarkable advances in ride, handling and improved safety.
Holden had mastered Australian conditions better than any other on the road before.
The HZ was also the last of the traditional sized Holdens, until the smaller, lighter Commodore replaced it the following year in 1978.
DRIVER: JOHN ZAPPIA
2018/2019 CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON
HIDDEN VALLEY WINNER
ETA Q4 2019.
Biante Model Cars are very excited to present the 1:18 Scale “Zapsrat” HQ Monaro Top Doorslammer driven to victory by John Zappia during the Hidden Valley round of the 2018/2019 Championship Season.
Simply put, John Zappia is a drag racing legend in Australia. He (along with Zapsrat) is the most successful Australian Top Doorslammer champion by a big margin, a title he has clinched ten years running along with a list of other achievements which include; 2 x 400 Thunder Pro Slammer Champion, ANDRA Top Doorslammer 400meter ET Record Holder, and 400 Thunder ET Record Holder.
The 1:18 scale replica of this iconic Top Door Slammer is quite impressive to behold. It has been produced in sealed body resin with a removable front engine cover that reveals the impressive gear underneath that powers the record breaking dragster to extreme speeds. Other nice features include the Hossier wheels which include the raised logos on the sides of the tyres and excellent finishing throughout. The stance of the model is quite impressive and will display very well.
After the first edition sold out in record time last year, we wanted to make this second version available which includes the new updated livery and started the 2018/19 season with a dominant victory.
Produced in an exclusive limited edition with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity this is a model that shouldn’t be missed.
Produced in high quality sealed body resin, the 1:18 Mustang is a finely crafted collectable. Despite being a sealed body model, the interior detail has been well replicated and can clearly be seen through the clear windows. The exterior finishing of this model is a real standout also. The simple but very effective paint job and stripes works so well together and it will simply be a beautiful addition to anyones ATCC Winners collection.
As with all Biante/Apex 1:18 scale models, this model will come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. It will also come presented in closed box Apex Replicas packaging.
Overall this famous car of Australian motor racing is shaping up to be a real beauty and given it will be produced in a limited edition, it’s one that shouldn’t be missed.

Despite being a sealed body model, no shortcuts have been taken with replicating the interior of this model. Upon looking through the clear windows you can see a very high attention to detail right down to the 25th Anniversary seat trimmings, dashboard instrumentation and logos. You can even clearly see the HSV EDI logo on the start up screen such is the level of detail. Last but not least, the Heron White colour scheme simply looks phenomenal and finishes the model superbly well.

Our new 1:18 SS-V Redline model have been produced in die-cast (with fully opening parts), which should be welcome news for many die-cast model car collectors. Additionally, the models will have numerous features including, faithfully replicated interiors, nicely replicated 19” staggered wheels with road going tyres, photo etched parts, beautifully presented detailing and outstanding finishing all round.
To celebrate the last year of locally built Commodores, Holden introduced the Motorsport Edition range to the public. They consisted of the ‘Magnum’ – a SSV based ute, the ‘Director’ – a Calais based sedan, and the ‘Motorsport Edition’ – a SSV based sedan.
The Motorsport Edition sedan featured all the fruit from the standard SSV Redline, but also added the Magnetic Ride Control system (a feature previously only given to HSV’s), together with some suspension, brake, and wheel upgrades. The other major area of difference was the exclusive cosmetic package which featured an embroidered dash, a black painted roof, red or black driving light surrounds, red or black mirror scalps, new red-lined alloys, unique badging, unique decal set, individual vehicle numbering, and a special build option code ‘KOM’. Which of course stands for King of the Mountain — a reference to both Peter Brock and the fact Commodore won the Bathurst 1000 24 times.
Similar to our 1:18 SS-V Redline models, the Motorsport Edition will be produced in die-cast with fully opening parts featuring, faithfully replicated interior, nicely replicated staggered wheels with road going tyres, photo etched parts, beautifully presented detailing and outstanding finishing all round.
As with all Biante 1:18 scale models, these items have been produced in a limited edition and will come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
